My good friend and college roommate started dyeing yarn about a year ago or so. She's a natural talent. Plus I love supporting my friends. So when she posted some of her new colorways in her etsy shop I could barely contain myself. I had to have "robot takeover" it's variegated which I usually don't go for. But there was something about the steel grey and the bright lime that I could pass up. It say around for a while. With having a new baby and moving to a new state. I also couldn't decide what to do with it. It's happily turning into two projects.
Artist friends are having a baby girl... any day know. and I couldn't see knitting them a hat in an A typical baby girl color. So this seemed perfect. and boy, was I right. This is just the absolute best baby hat. The pattern is super too. You can find it here as a free ravelry download. I've made this hat several times now. H wore a rusty alpaca one for his first few months and it looked so cute.
But there is more. I think the skein was about 430 yards. So a little off the top for the hat and I'm pretty certain I have enough to make H a short sleeve sweater with it. It's coming along nicely. But I'm getting worried I may run out of yarn before I finish. Here it is in progress.
